TOILET PAPER GATE

I recently found a gorgeous poem about the strange behaviour of some people during the Corona-Crisis, written by S.J. Paterson.

It's called "The Ballad Of Dunny Roll"

When I first listened to it, I thought it might become a nice Country Song.

Sammy J. kindly granted me permission to use (or shall I better say abuse ;-) his poem to create the song, THANKS a lot!

I'm not experienced in the genre so bear with me! Guitars, Mandolin and Fiddle made with "Band In A Box", drums, keyboards and vocals ;-) by me, the girl's voice in the end is made with VOCALOID.

Thanks to ttiimm54 and Glitchedtones at freesound for the great sound effects (door slam and lock).

As I already said, I can't sing so I tried something like a slow-motion-rap ;-) , quite excessive usage of voice-destroying plugins, tho!

The poem is quite long hence I had to shorten it a bit.

It's a Sunday's fun project and as always-no professional ambitions!

Hope you like it!

#TOILET PAPER GATE

The year was 2020, early March or there abouts

Off the back of quite a summer of bushfires and droughts

So the nation was exhausted, many folks weren't thinking straight

Which goes some way towards explaining #Toilet Paper Gate

In amongst the panic someone headed down to Cole's

And loaded up their trolley full of toilet paper rolls

We'll never know who did it, what their motive was or why

Or what brand of roll they hoarded, was it scented or two-ply

And we saw the illness spreading and the cruise ships quarantined

And we sanitised our fingers as we lined up to be screened

It started with a virus, god knows who was the donor

They called it Covid-19 but we called it -Corona

And we saw the illness spreading and the cruise ships quarantined

And we sanitised our fingers as we lined up to be screened

It started with a virus, god knows who was the donor

but that doesn't really matter - it's dangerous -

so follow my advice:

Wash your hands and stay at home

Wash your hands and stay the f*** at home

Once again for those who need a wee bit longer: one, two, three, four:

Wash your hands and stay at home

Wash your hands and stay the f*** at home

...at home...at home... STAY AT HOME
